THE STORY OF HEARTLESS
Hello and welcome to Wonderland! I'm Emilia Ramos, the creator of Heartless the Musical. This passion project began as a childhood fascination when I read Marissa Meyer’s breathtaking novel of the same name. I set out to make the musical world of Wonderland just as whimsical as the one in Lewis Carroll’s pages! All through the last five years, I’ve been composing songs, writing and re-writing scenes, and adapting Meyer’s novel into the form that I dreamt about when I first read it: a Broadway-style musical.
With the mentorship of Interlochen's Laura Mittelstaedt and Broadway's Desi Oakley, our team directed, produced, and designed the world premiere of Heartless the Musical at Interlochen Center for the Arts in 2025.
Heartless is a tale of wonder, magic, whimsy, romance, heartbreak, and, above all, dreams.
I am forever grateful for our wonderlandiful cast, Laura Mittelstaedt, Desi Oakley, and my family, without whom none of this would’ve been possible.
All the love on either side of the Looking Glass,
Emilia Ramos
